AVOID THE ACTIVITY TRAP
Why Being Busy Isn't the Same as Making Progress

Locker Room Insight
This week in the Million Dollar Locker Room, the focus was clear:
Avoid the Activity Trap.
Most people think momentum means staying busy.
But motion is not the same as progress.
You can work hard all day.
Answer emails.
Attend meetings.
Check boxes.
Stay occupied.
And still end up exactly where you started.
Our guest, Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco, shared a powerful lesson from his own journey.
For years, he built a successful mortgage business, made great money, and checked all the boxes society says should make you happy.
But something was missing.
Not income.
Not opportunity.
Purpose.
That realization forced him to ask a bigger question:
"Am I playing a big enough game?"
And that's where the conversation shifted.
Many people stay trapped in activity because they're afraid to stop and ask themselves whether what they're doing actually matters.
Mike explained that most people live transactionally.
They're chasing the next deal.
The next paycheck.
The next task.
But eventually, the highest performers make a transition.
They stop asking:
"What can I get?"
And start asking:
"What kind of impact can I make?"
That's where real momentum begins.
Not with busyness.
With purpose.
Another major lesson from the call was around the environment.
The people around you matter.
The conversations around you matter.
The voices you listen to matter.
Because eventually your thinking starts matching your environment.
If you're surrounded by complainers, you'll think smaller.
If you're surrounded by builders, you'll think bigger.
As Mike put it:
Your thoughts, words, actions, and environment must all align with the person you're trying to become.
The real lesson this week?
Most people don't need more activity.
They need more alignment.
A clear mission.
A bigger vision.
And the courage to stop doing things that feel productive but aren't actually moving them forward.
Because at the end of the day:
Being busy and making progress are not the same thing.

Next Monday in the Locker Room, we have a special guest, Greg Kovsky, joining us. He is President of International Business Associates, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected mergers and acquisition firms. He has also personally negotiated more than 300 business sales.
Every Monday is a chance to reset, sharpen your thinking, and raise your standard again.
That’s where momentum begins.
